National Bike Month is here and in full sprint!  There are group rides popping up everywhere these days.  Come on out for our Tuesday (Mtb) and Saturday (Road) rides, but no matter where you ride please ride safely.

New Employee!

Bike Worx is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Rinella as sales manager.  Matt comes back to us after working as a mechanic more than 7 years ago. Since then Matt has gained tremendous cycling industry working in the wholesale side both inside and as an outside rep.  Matt also spent time managing another bicycle shop in the upstate.  We are very excited to have Matt's energy and experience on the team.  Matt is an experienced bicycle fitter so bring us your fit issues.

About the Tour de 7:

  • The Td7 is a 32-mile charity bike ride to all Spartanburg District 7 schools on Bike to School Day.
  • This year's Td7 is on behalf of our District 7 family and friends whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Road Biking - We will begin Saturday morning road rides in April.  We will have multiple groups based on turn out and no one will be left behind.  Helmets will be required and 700c wheels strongly encouraged.  Please utilize the parking behind Hillcrest Specialty Shops as needed.  We roll at 8am!

Mountain Biking - Come join us at Southside (Croft State Natural area) on Tuesday evenings 6pm for all skill levels.  Southside offers some of the best trails in the Southeast right in our back yard.  We highly recommend suspended mountain bikes and helmets are required.

Dates: Monday nights in May

Cost: $10 per session or $35 for the month

Children age 6-11 will learn the basics of mountain biking in a fun, interactive setting. Kid-friendly instructors will teach bike-handling skills through fun games and a miniature obstacle course. Each class will culminate in a short ride in which parents accompany their children on an easy trail to watch them demonstrate their new prowess. A limited amount of bikes will be available for those who don't own one. Go to www.scprc.org for more details and to pre-register.
